1. Terms of Service
1.1 Service Description
CIPLE Alert monitors the availability of CIPLE language exam places in Portugal and notifies users via email (free) or Instant Alerts (paid subscription).
1.2 Acceptance of Terms
By subscribing to our service, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1.3 Service Limitations
- We monitor exam availability using publicly available information
- Notifications are sent on a best-effort basis
- We do not guarantee that you will secure an exam place
- We are not affiliated with the organizations that administer the CIPLE exam
- Notification timing may vary due to technical factors outside our control
- Instant Alert notifications are typically delivered within 60 minutes of availability, but delays may occur
1.4 User Obligations
- Provide accurate contact information (email address and/or phone number)
- Maintain a valid payment method for premium subscriptions
- Use the service and its content only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate our monitoring systems
1.4.1 Content and Alert Sharing
Our alerts contain time-sensitive information about exam availability. Widespread sharing undermines the service for all subscribers, particularly those who pay for Instant Alerts.
You must not:
- Post alerts to public forums, message boards, or social media in a way that acts as a notification service for others
- Systematically forward alerts to group chats, mailing lists, or messaging channels (for example, Discord servers, Telegram groups, or WhatsApp groups)
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit alert content
- Use alerts to operate a competing monitoring or notification service
- Build automated systems or tools that redistribute alert content
You may casually share an individual alert with a friend or family member on an occasional basis. We are not trying to prevent normal personal communication.
1.5 Service Availability
We aim for 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to suspend the service for maintenance or technical issues without liability.
2. Pricing and Payment
2.1 Free Service
Email notifications are provided free of charge with no time limit.
2.2 Premium Subscription
- Instant Alert notifications cost $3.99 per month
- Billing occurs monthly on the anniversary of subscription
- Payment is processed automatically via third-party payment providers
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice to active subscribers
2.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your premium subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
3. Refund Policy
3.1 Strict Refund Terms
Given the low monthly cost and real-time nature of the service, refunds are only issued in the following circumstances:
- Technical failure where no notifications were sent for more than 7 consecutive days during your paid subscription period
- You were charged after cancelling your subscription
3.2 No Refunds For
- Dissatisfaction with notification frequency or exam availability
- Missing an exam booking opportunity despite receiving a notification
- Notifications being delayed but still delivered within 24 hours
- User error (incorrect phone number, blocked messages, etc.)
- Change of mind after subscribing
- Partial month cancellations
- Termination due to violation of these terms, including prohibited redistribution (see section 1.4.1)
3.3 Refund Requests
Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the charge via email to refund@ciple-alert.com. Include your subscription details and reason for the request.
4. Privacy Policy
4.1 Data Collection
We collect and store:
- Email addresses (all users)
- Phone numbers (premium users only)
- Payment information (processed by third-party payment provider; we do not store card details)
- Subscription status and billing history
- Basic usage logs (notification delivery status)
- Aggregated demographic data (age, gender, interests) via Google Analytics and Google Signals, used only in anonymous, combined form
4.2 Data Usage
Your data is used solely to:
- Deliver notifications
- Process payments
- Communicate about your subscription
- Improve service reliability
- Understand visitor demographics and interests in aggregate (via Google Signals) to improve our service and content
4.3 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:
- Payment processors for billing
- Messaging API for notification delivery
- As required by law
4.4 Data Retention
- Active subscriptions: Data retained while subscription is active
- Cancelled subscriptions: Data deleted within 90 days of cancellation
- You may request immediate data deletion by contacting us
4.5 Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4.6 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to data processing
- Data portability

5. Unsubscribing
5.1 Email Notifications
Unsubscribe from free email notifications by:
- Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any notification email
- Contacting us directly with your unsubscribe request
Unsubscribe requests are processed within 48 hours.
5.2 Instant Alert Notifications
Instant Alert notifications are only available to premium subscribers.
5.2.1 Canceling Premium Subscription
Cancel your premium Instant Alerts subscription by:
- Logging into your account and selecting "Cancel Subscription"
- Contacting support
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to receive notifications until then.
6. Limitation of Liability
CIPLE Alert is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Lost opportunities to book exams
- Inaccurate or delayed information
- Service interruptions or technical issues
- Consequential damages arising from use of the service
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the previous 12 months.
7. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate any subscription or account for:
- Violation of these terms
- Fraudulent payment activity
- Abuse of the service
8.1 Enforcement for Redistribution Violations
For violations of section 1.4.1, we follow a graduated process:
- Warning - We will notify you of the violation and ask you to stop
- Temporary suspension - If the behaviour continues, we may suspend your account
- Permanent termination - Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent account closure
However, we may terminate your account immediately and without warning for:
- Commercial resale of alert content
- Automated redistribution of alerts
- Operating a competing service using our alerts
8.2 Effect of Termination
If your account is terminated for violating these terms:
- Any remaining subscription period is forfeited
- No refund will be issued for unused time
- All access to the service will be removed

10. Governing Law
